Dave Matthews performs tonight at Key Arena in Seattle to benefit Seeds of Compassion, a new initiative focused on addressing the social and emotional well-being of children at the local and the global level. Their objectives are summarized in the following statement from their well-designed web site: “…we seek to bring social and emotional learning into families, to caregivers, and to schools so that all who touch the lives of children have the tools and empowerment to provide the foundation for kinder and more compassionate children, communities, and society.”

Prior to the concert, Dave will be talking with the Dalai Lama, who is taking part in the five day event also. The live webcast of this interview will be showing at this URL tonight, April 11, from 4:30 to 5:15 pm Pacific Time. In fact, many of the events taking place over the next five days will be available as live webcasts. I am watching a panel discussion with the Dalai Lama right now, and the quality of the webcast is top notch. Both the audio and video are very high quality, and they are offering the webcasts in 24 languages! I am sure that the Dave Matthews – Dalai Lama interview will be lively and interesting.

One of the people that Barbara Walters interviews for this special 2 hour edition of 20/20 is the Dalai Lama. She mentioned on The View this morning that this was her favorite interview. She also showed a clip of the interview & it looked enchanting. I rarely miss the chance to hear the sound of His Holiness’ laughter. For me, it is like a glimpse of heaven while still here on earth.
