U2 on Letterman for Five Nights

No doubt to promote the release of their new album, No Line on the Horizon, the first week in March, U2 will be guests on the Late Show with David Letterman for five nights straight from March 2-6. There is a short blurb here about the U2 Letterman appearances.

I am looking forward to hearing more cuts from the album. I like Get on Your Boots, but it is not destined to be one of my favorite U2 songs. I tend to like the more eclectic songs on U2 albums rather than the ‘hits’.

I am also anxiously awaiting the release of the new Green Day album which is set for release in May. Rumor has it that it is as good, or better, than American Idiot. I hope the rumors are true!

U2 Performing Live From Cannes Tonight

Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington’s film “U2 3D” will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival tonight (following the screening of Michael Moore’s “Sicko”). U2 will be playing live on the Palais steps tonight around 6pm Eastern time, and can be viewed live via an internet feed on ifc.com. Eighteen cameras were used in the filming of multiple shows on the band’s tour of South America last year. The editing is still taking place but the final film is expected to be between 80 and 90 minutes in length. At one show in Chile, the crew only filmed Larry on drums for the whole show – another night was a ‘phantom shoot’, homing in on the band close-up, but with no audience in the venue.

The production team are predicting that the film could change the face of music videos. ’3D is now digital and and it’s going to start to change music videos. And when you no longer need the glasses, then it will really take off.” Click this link to read the entire article on the U2.com site.
