Shining a Little Light on Health Care Reform

This all day meeting between President Obama and congressional leaders to discuss health care reform in our country was revealing, but not surprising. I am guessing that all of Barack’s experience as the editor of the Harvard Law Review prepared him well for chairing this sort of meeting. He is a master of moderating this sort of debate, and it was a pleasure to watch how he handled the agenda and flow of the discussion without being too heavy-handed.

I heard and saw what I expected to see, and I was not disappointed in Barack. I have full confidence that he will get health reform passed, and it WILL include affordable options. Below are the videos of the entire day.

This is the most comprehensive speech that Obama has delivered to date describing our current economic status. He discusses at length how we got here, what his administration is doing about it, and what his medium and long term strategy for recovery and future, sustainable, economic growth includes. He speaks directly to all of the major concerns and criticisms that have been leveled at him, and his plan, with thoughtful, well-informed discussions regarding the alternative plans that have been proposed, and their related merits and risks. If you are sincerely interested in what the Obama administration is already doing, and is planning to do, to fix our economy, then take the time to listen to this speech. Perhaps you will feel as reassured as I did after hearing what Obama had to say.

Obama Family Volunteering at Local Food Pantry

I am continuously inspired by the way the Obamas walk the walk and don’t just talk the talk. They obviously understand what “service” is all about. I love these people. I also love the fact that the school children assembled in the church auditorium to see Barack, and that he took the time to meet with them. Barack and Michelle will be on a one hour Barbara Walters special tonight on ABC. Rumor has it they will be discussing the puppy.
