I understand your cynicism. I have a strong tendency toward cynicism myself. I try to combat this tendency by focusing on the positive aspects of myself, others, and the world in general. This doesn't mean that I ignore, or deny the negative aspects that exist in myself and everything else. It means that I try to accept them and to address them through transforming them into positive intentions and actions whenever I can. Believe me, I do not always succeed! But I keep trying.
