Obama Announces Impressive First Quarter Results

Barack in Austin

The numbers are in for the Obama Campaign’s first quarter, and they look very good. There is a complete summary on the Obama’08 site, click here to view.

The $25M raised by the Obama campaign – what makes this achievement especially noteworthy is that it was done without taking any money from PACs or federal lobbyists – closely rivals Hillary Clinton’s $26M, and surpasses John Edwards’ $14-16M by quite a margin. Some of the results that I found of particular interest were the number of different donors, 100,000+, and the number of online donors, 50,000. Also, the amount of Obama’s online donations was over double the amount raised by Edwards’ online campaign. And finally, I was proud to see that the Obama Austin rally was the biggest rally to date.

As a strong supporter of Barack, I am very encouraged by these numbers. I sincerely believe that this candidate is the leader we have been waiting for, and it appears that many others feel the same way. It’s great to see such a good showing by a newcomer, especially in such a quality field of candidates as the democrats have this time. There is definitely something special about this man.

P.S. – I have been away from blogging for the past week or so due to a hard drive failure, and I will be limping by until I receive my new PC later this week. Expect more activity here soon!

Keep the faith,
Carol

  1. These results are amazing. I read all the stats on Google News this morning. I’m looking forward to taking a few days off this week for a long camping trip out by Paleface so I can crack open Obama’s book. See you soon!

    Love,
    Justin

  2. You deserve a vacation! Hope y’all have a great time. The book is great, and I would also encourage you to take a look at some of the videos of his speeches and TV appearances. When you SEE him say the words it is remarkably powerful because it is so evident that he means what he says and he says what he means.

    Love you,
    Mom
