New Lost Valley Gardens Blog

Now that I am comfortable with my new web hosting service, and have acquired a few new WordPress skills, I decided that it was time to separate my ‘business’ blog from my personal blog.

Life is an Ongoing Process, my personal blog, will continue to contain content relative to my personal interests and hobbies, but all content related to gardening, landscaping, and photography thereof will be relegated to the Lost Valley Gardens Blog. I have provided navigational links between these blogs so you can easily flip between them. To get the new gardening blog started, I imported all of the gardening posts from Life is an Ongoing Process, and I have already posted one new post as well. You will also find many new links and blogroll items that are focused on gardening in Central Texas. I am adding content every day, so check back often for new additions.

Blessings,
Carol

  1. I would be wary of using bluehost as they oversell like crazy and as their client base uses more resources their costs go up until they finally collapse. Check out a better shared host like asmallorange, fluidhosting, pair, etc.

  2. Thanks for the input. I have been satisfied with BlueHost thus far. There has been some downtime, but the outages have been brief (<2 min), and infrequent. There have also been some performance issues (probably due to the overselling you mention), but according to an e-mail I recently received from the CEO, they are in the process of upgrading their data center to address these issues (time will tell here, but performance issues have dissappeared for the past two weeks).

I chose this vendor because they were one of the ones recommended by WordPress.org. And BlueHost has been really excellent in supporting WordPress. The installation interface is straight forward and easy to use. They provide the WordPress upgrades in a timely fashion, and all upgrades have gone flawlessly. So, in this regard, they have certainly met my expectations.

I do appreciate your input, and I like your web site. There is definitely a need for the information you are providing.
