I feel so helpless when I see and hear what is going on in Darfur every day. In my head I hear Bono singing “How long? How long must I sing this song?”
There are a few things that can be done though. They may seem like small and insignificant things, but I think that many small actions can add up and can have a very significant effect. If you, like I, are concerned about the native citizens of Darfur, there is a petition that you can sign on the I Save Darfur site. There is also alot of really good and current information on the situation in Darfur on that site also.
Senator Edwards has also circulated an e-mail requesting folks to sign a petition. That e-mail can be viewed in its entirety by clicking here
I hate to sound like a “bleeding heart liberal”, but if you have compassion for the plight of these people, please take just a little time to sign a couple of petitions. I am so sure it will make a difference, and what is to lose by trying?
Blessings.
