I cannot believe that the Houston Astros are actually making a run at the playoffs again. I had written them off a long time ago, but I can’t resist checking in on how they are doing every now and again. And they do have a history of just squeaking in to the play offs. So, here we are again. We have won the last nine games in a row and we are half a game out of first place with only three games left. OMG
We play tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday in Atlanta. Roger will pitch tonight at 6:05 CT, pitcher TBA on Saturday at 6:05 CT, and Andy will start on Sunday at 12:05 CT. I think the game tonight is on ESPN (if it isn’t blacked out because of FSN having the rights….), so maybe it will be in HD.
And here I was, all set to relax and watch the Mets and Yankees in the World Series - two of my favorite teams, so I can’t really lose. But no, the Astros seem to have other plans, and I’m hooked once again. My hopes are soaring, and there isn’t a darn thing I can do about it - that’s baseball….

I have had these little statues (thanks Dillon) on my desk for the past three years.
